Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Auwal D. Tukur, Governor Fintiri praised the forum for their charitable efforts. He encouraged other stakeholders and well-meaning individuals to follow the example set by his special assistants.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Ijabani Ijahu, emphasized the necessity of the humanitarian activity given the current economic challenges faced by many in the country. He announced that the program, aimed at assisting the less privileged, would be conducted quarterly.

Mr. Ijahu expressed gratitude to the forum members and the organizing committee for their contributions to help the sick and needy, offering prayers for divine blessings on their efforts.

The Medical Director of Specialist Hospital, Yola, represented by the Director of Nurses, Mr. Grace Gadzama, accompanied the SSG and forum members on a tour of the hospital wards.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of an award of excellence to the Wife of the Governor, Her Excellency, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, recognizing her contributions and support.

Expressing his excitement at the ceremony, Governor Fintiri stated, “I am excited to commission the new 60-bed cottage hospital in Demsa, a major step towards our goal of enhancing healthcare across Adamawa. Proud to see our vision of accessible and quality health services coming to life. I remain committed to building a healthier future for all.”

The newly commissioned hospital is equipped with modern medical facilities and staffed by skilled healthcare professionals, ensuring that the people of Demsa and surrounding communities have access to essential medical care. This initiative is expected to significantly improve health outcomes in the region, reduce travel time for medical emergencies, and provide a broad range of healthcare services locally.

Governor Fintiri emphasized the administration’s commitment to the health sector, highlighting that the cottage hospital is part of a broader strategy to uplift healthcare standards throughout Adamawa State. “We are dedicated to building a robust healthcare infrastructure that meets the needs of our people. This hospital is a testament to our commitment to providing quality healthcare services closer to home,” he added.
